about Craig

I'm a gamer, a scientist and a musician.

[gaming] Marathon was my first, and still is, my favorite video game.

[science] I'm a professor at Arizona State University and a planetary geologist working on the Mars Science Laboratory rover Curiosity. I work on the camera and neutron detector teams. I'm also leading a team of scientists and engineers who are building a shoebox-sized spacecraft that will map water-ice deposits on the Moon. The mission is called LunaH-Map and you can read about it here. I've worked on a few different Mars missions and I targeted images for the Context Imager (CTX) on Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Planetary science and spectroscopy is fun!

[music, other] A long time ago I was a finalist in a Halo music competition, I created songs ([1], [2]) to celebrate the ILoveBees alternate reality game, and I was trying to find ways to merge my interests in video gaming with science and exploration. Maybe it can still be done. Life is strange. I've also spent way too long writing, producing and editing audio dramas set in the Destiny universe. I produced audio versions of the Destiny grimoire which you can listen to here, and I made up my own audio story and produced a series called Ghosts and Echoes.
